The Washington CPA Foundation, the benevolent arm of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants awarded Megan Garber of Kent an accounting scholarship for the 2010-2011 academic year. Garber, a Kentwood High School alumnus, is attending the University of Washington Foster School of Business in Seattle, and anticipates a 2011 graduation date.
Garber is actively involved with the UW Beta Alpha Psi Delta Chapter, the National Honors professional organization for accounting and finance majors. She also serves as a student mentor for both the UW Office of Minority Affairs and the UW Undergraduate Business Council. Garber has been named to the UW Dean’s List and is a member of the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. She plans to earn her Certified Public Accounting license after graduation with an eye toward earning a management position in the future.
