Three men were injured in a shooting Wednesday in Des Moines between two separate groups at the Silverwood Park Apartments.
Des Moines Police responded to the shooting at about 11:45 a.m. Wednesday to the apartment complex in the 23000 block of 30th Avenue South, according to a Des Moines Police media release.
Officers found a 52-year-old man in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the head. He was conscious and able to talk with officers.
While responding to the shooting, another Des Moines police officer was flagged down at the intersection of South 216th Street and Pacific Highway South by a vehicle that had two shooting victims inside. Police discovered a 29-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his shoulder and a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Paramedics transported all three gunshot victims to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries.
Police determined that an altercation started between two groups in the apartment complex parking lot and gunshots were exchanged.
Officers have identified all of the people involved in the shooting and continue to look into what caused the conflict. Police have not yet made any arrests.
