Three Seattle Thunderbirds – defenseman Shea Theodore, right wing Justin Hickman and defenseman Evan Wardley – will take part in NHL training camps this month, Seattle general manager Russ Farwell announced today.

Theodore leaves today for the training camp of the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks will play two Futures Games against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday and Sunday. Theodore is expected to play in these games that feature top prospects from both teams.

Theodore will continue at Ducks’ training camp. Last year he played in two preseason games with the Ducks before returning to the T-Birds.

Theodore led the T-Birds in points this past regular season with a total of 79. He registered 22 goals and 57 assists in 70 games. In the post-season, Theodore had five assists in nine playoff games. Theodore was called up to the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL, for the Calder Cup playoffs. He played in four games, registering one goal and two assists.

Theodore attended the Ducks’ development camp in July. The Ducks selected Theodore in the first round, 26th overall, of the 2013 NHL Draft.

Hickman leaves today for the training camp of the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets, along with the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers, will take part in the Young Stars Classic in Penticton, B.C. The Jets will play three games at this tournament; the first on Friday against Calgary.

Hickman attended the Jets’ camp in July.

After last season ended, Hickman signed an Amateur Tryout Agreement with the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers, an affiliate to the New York Islanders. He played in five games and registered one goal and four penalty minutes.

Last season, Hickman had 22 goals and 24 assists in 64 games. In the playoffs, Hickman played in nine games and had two goals and one assist with 12 penalty minutes.

Hickman has played a total of 254 games in four seasons with the T-Birds. He has 46 goals and 58 assists for 104 points. His career penalty minutes are 426, with this past season being the highest at 154 penalty minutes.

Wardley will leave Thursday for the Montreal Canadiens’ training camp. He took part in the Canadiens’ Development Camp in July. Wardley had a goal and eight assists in 61 games last season. He finished the season third on the team in penalty minutes with 151. Wardley has played in 151 games over three seasons with the T-Birds and has three goal and 15 assists for 18 points.
