A 16-year-old Newcastle girl remained in critical condition Wednesday, Oct. 14 at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after she was injured along with two other girls in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday, Oct. 13 in the 22000 block of SE Kent Kangley Road in Maple Valley.
A 16-year-old Maple Valley girl suffered a broken leg after she was ejected from the vehicle, according to a Oct. 14 email from Sgt. Ryan Abbott of the King County Sheriff’s Office. The Newcastle girl was airlifted to Harborview after the Tuesday afternoon crash. The driver, a 15-year-old Issaquah girl, suffered a minor injury.
The Issaquah girl was driving a Toyota Tacoma westbound on Southeast 272nd Street (aka Kent Kangley Road) when it veered off the north shoulder for an unknown reason and the mid-right side of the vehicle collided with a utility pole, Abbott said.
