The Everett Silvertips shut out the Seattle Thunderbirds 5-0 Saturday night at Comcast Arena in Everett.

The Everett Silvertips shut out the Seattle Thunderbirds 5-0 Saturday night at Comcast Arena in Everett.

The T-Birds record is now 11-5-0-2. Their next game is at 7:35 p.m. Friday against the Victoria Royals at the ShoWare Center.

Everett (11-3-2-0) went in front 1-0 53 seconds into the first when Ben Betker’s left point shot found the back of the Seattle net. Tyler Sandhu had the only assist.

The Silvertips extended the lead to 2-0 at 13:02 of the first on a goal from Ivan Nikolishin. Noah Juulsen and Carson Stadnyk were credited with the assists.

Everett outshot Seattle 12-2 in the first period.

Everett made it a 3-0 lead at 3:57 of the second period when Josh Winquist scored. Mirco Mueller and Manraj Hayer had the assists.

The Tips led 23-7 in shots after two periods by outshooting the T-Birds 11-5 in the second period.

The Silvertips got third period goals from Winquist and Stadnyk to seal the win. Kohl Bauml and Hayer had the assists on Winquist’s power-play goal at 5:34. Nikolishin and Betker had the assists on Stadnyk’s goal at 13:55.

Everett outshot Seattle 12-9 in the third period and 35-16 in the game.

Seattle goalie Danny Mumaugh made 30 saves on 35 shots and his record is now 5-2-0-2.

Everett goalie Daniel Cotton stopped all 16 shots he faced to get the shutout. His record is now 2-1-1-0.
