Vintage toys – from miniature cars and model airplanes to exotic dolls and rare comic books – graced the Kent Commons on Saturday for the Greater Seattle Toy Show Antique & Collectible Show.
The five-hour show attracted 80 dealers from throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond who sold their diverse collections to kids both young and old.
“You can see anything from antiques from the late 1800s to a current supply of toys with limited editions,” said promoter Todd Aicher, a Seattle firefighter who has brought the show, a family-owned side business, to Kent for 24 years.
Aicher, a toy collector himself, says there is no limit to the possibilities.
“They made some of the most remarkable toys back then,” said Aicher while studying a pressed steel 1920 Keystone dump truck. “It’s amazing stuff.”
The popular show visits the Kent Commons three times a year, with future stops scheduled for May 5 and Sept. 8.
