Washington State Department of Transportation bridge crews will conduct monthly maintenance work on the State Route 520 Evergreen Point floating bridge early Thursday morning.
Maintenance openings of the bridge drawspan begin Thursday, July 16 at 12:30 a.m. and end at 5 a.m. During this time, drivers can expect the bridge to be closed to traffic for up to 30 minutes at a time. Crews will conduct monthly safety checks and test the bridge drawspan to ensure proper working order.
Drivers will be alerted to possible 30-minute delays by electronic signs on highways that lead to the bridge. Drivers who plan to use the I-90 floating bridge as an alternate route are advised to remember that all westbound traffic on I-90 must use the express lanes due to construction on the bridge.
