Two people were injured during a shooting at about 2:40 a.m. Tuesday at a home on Kent’s West Hill.
Multiple calls came into 911 about sounds of gunfire, said Melanie Robinson, Kent Police spokeswoman, in an email. Officers responded to a home in the 25900 block of 30th Avenue South.
“It appears as though a specific residence was targeted,” Robinson said. “Dozens of rounds were fired directly at the residence.”
A 24-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his right calf, she said. A 37-year-old woman was grazed by a bullet on her right ear. Both were treated and released at local hospitals.
“Unfortunately, at this time we do not have any suspects,” Robinson said. “However, it is early on in the investigation, and investigators are continuing to follow up with witnesses to try to establish a motive and suspect(s) that may have been involved.”
Police do not think gangs were involved.
“This does not appear to be gang related, and it is unknown if drugs are a factor,” Robinson said.
Police have not yet determined if the shooter or shooters were in a vehicle or on foot.
“We have no details about the suspect(s) and or if vehicles were involved at this time,” Robinson said.
