The Kent Fire Department has scheduled a hazardous-materials drill for Oct. 8, and local folks can get a firsthand view of the action.
The drill runs 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 8 at Univar USA, 8201 S. 212th St., Kent.
Attendees must sign up by Oct. 3.
Those who want to attend can call the Kent Emergency Management Division at 253-856-4440 or e-mail the division at KentEMD@ci.kent.wa.us.
The Local Emergency Planning Committee works to prepare for hazardous material incidents by working with emergency response agencies, hazardous material facilities, area businesses and Kent residents.
