South winds in Kent could reach 15 to 25 mph Monday night and Tuesday morning with gusts to 30 mph.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory because of the predicted winds. Forecasters also expect plenty of rain.
Sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph or gusts of 45 to 57 mph can snap small tree branches, topple small or shallow rooted trees and cause local power outages.
The wind advisory is in effect from 7 Monday night to noon Tuesday. The strongest winds are expected between 10 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Forecasters also predict rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches Monday night and Tuesday then another 1 to 3 inches Tuesday night and Wednesday. The chance of rain is 100 percent Monday night and Tuesday.
Despite that amount of rain, no flooding is expected along the Green River.
Minor flooding in other parts of Western Washington could strike the Newaukum River, Chehalis, Puyallup River near Orting, Snoqualmie and Stillaguamish.
