A holiday tradition, Winterfest lit up Kent on Saturday night as rain showers tapered long enough to make way for a festive parade through historic downtown, a visit from Santa and the lighting of the Christmas tree.
The free event is a Christmas gift to the community from the Kent Lions in partnership with the city of Kent, Kent Station, Kent Downtown Partnership and Kent Library.
Winterfest included a Santa’s Children’s Workshop at Down Home Catering, holiday readings at the Kent Library, caroling in the square, snacks and other treats, and other activities.
