The Auburn Police Department urges the public to assist in the search for Jackelin Perez.
She is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs about 111 pounds, and has a scar on her left cheek. She also speaks limited English.
Auburn police continue to search for a missing 21-year-old girl two weeks after her disappearance on Oct. 13 in a suspected kidnapping.
According to the department, with assistance from the FBI and agencies, law enforcement arrested a 24-year-old individual on Oct. 19 in Texas in connection to the disappearance of Perez.
Perez, six weeks pregnant, was a recent immigrant from Guatemala with her husband. Detectives in the case believe Perez to have been taken from her home under duress in a targeted incident.
“We also believe there are more individuals involved and are actively trying to locate them,” according to a news release from the department.
Kolby Crossley, a spokesperson for the Auburn Police Department, declined to comment further regarding details of Perez’s disappearance.
Law enforcement continues to work to determine the whereabouts of Perez, as of Oct. 22.
“Police are diligently pursuing multiple leads,” stated the department.
The department requested public assistance for information and in the search of Perez.
