Barbara Ann (Matthews) Muczynski
Barbara Ann (Matthews) Muczynski, age 91, died September 11, 2016 peacefully at her Wesley Homes Lea Hill abode in Auburn, WA. She was born January 9, 1925 in Mineral, WA just a few minutes ahead of her twin Roberta Plummer (Vancouver, WA).
Barb graduated from Morton High School in 1942 and from Washington State University in 1946. She taught home-economics at Puyallup and Kent Meridian High Schools, and later at Green River Community College. She was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church and the PEO Sisterhood. She served on the Board of Valley Cities Counseling and Consultation and became a maker of huggable dolls sent worldwide to children in need. Barb was best known as a creative hostess who made everyone feel at home.
Barb married Matthew Muczynski in 1953. She raised three daughters: Robin Cromwell (deceased June 24, 2016), Mary Jay Muczynski (Bonney Lake, WA) and Kimberly Muczynski (Renton, WA).
Blessing of her ashes and inurnment will follow the 10:30 church service on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at St. James Episcopal Church in Kent, WA.
Daughters Mary Jay (541) 678-2770 and Kimberly have arranged a celebration of her life, to be held Sunday, November 27, 2016 in her living room at Wesley Homes Lea Hill, 32049 109th Place SE, Auburn, WA 98092. Light lunch beginning at noon with program to follow at 1:30. Bring a memory of happy times with Barb.
