C. Lloyd Baisinger
C. Lloyd Baisinger of Kent, Washington, passed away October 1, 2016. Born in 1922 in McKenna, Washington, he was the son of Heber and Blanch Baisinger. Lloyd grew up in Elbe and Puyallup, WA with his two brothers, Don and Wilbur. He graduated from Puyallup High in 1940. Lloyd enrolled at College of Puget Sound (now UPS). At CPS, he was a member of Sigma Zeta Epsilon fraternity and was active in basketball, tennis, boxing, and band.
As with many others at the time, his education was interrupted by the War. He joined the Navy in 1942, was commissioned an Officer in 1944, and was honorably discharged in 1946. Lloyd married Sherley in 1944. Their first home was in North Carolina, where he was stationed at the time. After returning to school to finish their degrees in 1946, they settled in Tacoma where their first 3 children were born. Moving to Kent in 1952, the family was completed with 2 more children. Among other activities, Lloyd was active in Kiwanis and Little League baseball.
Lloyd was predeceased in 2016 by Sherley, his wife of 72 years. He is survived by son Glen Baisinger and wife Nancy of Albany OR; son Gary Baisinger and wife Christy of Yakima WA; daughters Sheryl Baisinger and wife Danita Cochrane of Covington WA; Nancy Baisinger-Davis and husband Bruce of Eagle River Alaska; Carol Sturza and husband Rob of Black Diamond WA; and grandchildren Dennis Baisinger, Scott Baisinger, Sarah Mukasa, Adam Baisinger, Dana Lede, Charles Pollock, Amy Osterhaus, Rose Pollock, Matthew Sturza, Samuel Sturza, Zachery Sturza and Richard Sturza.
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday November 5, 2016 at Chehalis Methodist Church in Chehalis Washington.
