1938-2025
Carl Glenn Hart passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, at the age of 86, following a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born in Alameda, California, on October 6, 1938, to Glenn and Olga Hart, Carl lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community.
After graduating high school, Carl attended Menlo College, earning an Associate of Arts degree. His education was briefly interrupted by the passing of his father, leading him to enter the workforce. In 1972, he and his wife, Patricia, along with their sons Bob and Phil, relocated to Kent, Washington. There, Carl embarked on a successful career in the insurance industry, beginning at Bell-Anderson Insurance. His dedication and acumen led him to become a co-owner of the firm after more than 20 years of service. During his tenure, he forged strong relationships with the Kent School District and the City of Kent. He retired in 2014.
Beyond his professional achievements, Carl was deeply involved in his community. He served on the advisory committee for the construction of French Field Stadium (1981-1983) and as President of the Board of Directors for Kent Youth and Family Services (2004-2005). He was a devoted father, coaching his sons in baseball and basketball within the Kent city leagues. His passions extended to tennis, golf (he was a longtime member of the Riverbend Men’s Golf Club), classical music, the Seattle Mariners, and collecting sports cars.
Carl was known for his infectious laugh, outgoing personality, and a warm smile that could brighten any room. He possessed a keen wit and enjoyed sharing jokes with those around him. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Carol; sons Phil (Shannon) and Bob (Joyce); four grandchildren, Kayleigh, Ryan, Melissa, and Jon; and two great-grandchildren.
In keeping with Carl’s wishes, there will be no service. Those wishing to make a remembrance in his honor may donate to the Parkinson’s Foundation. He will be remembered not only for his accomplishments but also for the warmth, kindness, and joy he brought to the lives of so many. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
