Christa I. Strakeljahn, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on August 21, 2019 at home. Born in Germany on December 25, 1931, she is survived by her husband Heinz Strakeljahn, children Axel Strakeljahn of Seabeck, Michelle Strakeljahn Vittitow and grandchildren Shauna and Christian Maurer of Kent.
Shortly after immigrating and receiving full citizenship, Christa and her husband moved to Queen Anne Hill. She began a family and worked close to 40 years at Harborview Medical Center as a registered nurse. As an operating nurse she assisted in saving countless lives. Later becoming a lead in the region’s burn center, she impacted hundreds.
After retirement she continued to stay active with the family business while enjoying her grandchildren. She was well known and loved in the community and will be missed by many.
