Gertrude “Trudy” L. Piraino
Trudy passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 16, 2014 at 96 years of age.
She was born in Buffalo, NY on March 27, 1918 to Arthur F. and Hedwig Ann Goller. She and her two older brothers, Siegfried and Werner, were active in 4H club as youngsters growing up on the farm in western New York.
She was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore “Sam” M. Piraino, to whom she was married for over 63 years. She is survived by her two sons, Michael and Daniel, both of Washington, and her younger brother Hagen Goller, who still lives near Buffalo, NY.
Before retiring in 1983, Trudy was employed as a secretary for Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico for over 21 years. She and Sam moved to Washington State in 1992. She enjoyed gardening, playing the piano, and reading.
Always a gracious lady, quiet and reserved, she had a beautiful smile and a good sense of humor. Trudy was a gentle, loving soul to whom her family meant everything. She will be greatly missed.
