April 9, 1962 – March 17, 2018
You’ll Never Know How Much You’ll Be Missed!
On the evening of March 17, 2018, Julie passed away after an extensive battle with Diabetes and all its ugly and painful side effects. It was a long hard fought battle, she went through so much and she fought so hard, but now, Julie is finally at peace.
Julie was born in the K-Mart parking lot, once known as the Renton Hospital, on April 9, 1962.
She was the second child, but the first daughter born to Roger and Beverly Knutson.
Julie was raised in the Park Orchard neighborhood of Kent Washington, where she attended Park Orchard Elementary, Meridan Jr. High, and then graduated from Kentridge High School, Class of 1980.
She married Shane Smyth in 1990 and together they had and raised two sons, Cody Andrew and Tyler Evan Smyth.
Julie was the best mother two sons could have asked for, and I as her husband couldn’t have asked for a kinder, sweeter, caring and loving wife. She’s already missed so much.
Julie loved listening to music, decorating for the Holidays, the camping trips, the vacation at the Ocean. There were times I’d become jealous over her washing machine, sometimes I swear, she’d look for things to wash.
Julie was preceded in death by her brother Roger Allen Knutson Jr. who also left us too soon in 2014.
Julie is survived by her husband Shane, our two sons Cody and Tyler. Her mother Beverly Knutson, father Roger Knutson Sr. and wife Kay, her brother Randy Knutson and wife Rose, sister Connie Fleisch and husband Mike, mother-in-law Millie Smyth, Shannon and Jay Jendro, Anne Smyth and Terri, Kristi Smyth, Shawn Smyth. Her nephews and nieces Jason, Tina, Kyle, Andrea, Josie, Sheena, and Shauna.
We are so very thankful of all the support of her entire family, for all the love and support of all our friends and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held March 31st at 1:30 pm at: The Greater Maple Valley Community Center, 22010 SE 248th St, Maple Valley, WA 98038.
