Obert “Shorty” Leverne Knudsvig
Obert “Shorty” Leverne Knudsvig, 86, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at his home in Covington, WA.
Services will be held Monday, June 6, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church in Kent at 11 o’clock in the morning.
Obert was born on December 24, 1929 in West Union, Iowa to Ruben and Josie (Larson) Knudsvig. He grew up working on his family farm in Brooten, MN before he moved west to Seattle where he worked at Schoenblocker’s Farm milking cows and then went on to be one of the best heavy equipment operator’s while working for Service Electric.
On August 31st of 1957 he wed the love of his life, JoAnne Pedersen of Ballard and they had 5 children together.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, JoAnne; children, Sherrie (Dale) Fleming of Covington, WA, Robert (Tiffany) Knudsvig of Renton, WA, Paul (Jami) Knudsvig of Las Vegas, NV, son-in-law, John Pettit of Maple Valley, WA; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; siblings Kermit (Shirley) Knudsvig of Belgrade, MN, Adeline (Howard) Roberg of Spicer, MN, sisters-in-law: Ramona Knudsvig of Brooton, MN, Leona Knudsvig of Rockford, MN, Dianne Pedersen, Mill Creek, WA, Connie Pedersen, Silvana, WA; brother-in-law Bill (Judy) Pedersen, Boise, ID and many nieces and nephews.
Obert is preceded in death by his parents, sibings: Marcella, Alvina, Darlene, Vernon, Berdine, brothers-in-law: Paul and Ray Pedersen, and his daughter’s: Doreen Marie Knudsvig and Debra Lynne Pettit.
