Margaret Nancy (Neel) Maples, of Kennewick, Washington, born on January 31, 1933 in Pasco, Washington, to the late Margaret Rose Skipworth and the late Theodore Amos Neel, passed away at age 85 on May 1, 2018 in Bothell, Washington. Nancy graduated from Franklin High School in Portland Oregon. Nancy was married to the late Vance Harrell Maples.
She was preceded in death by her son, Neel Maples; sister, Barbara; and grandchild, Richard Strauss. Nancy is survived by her son, Vance H. Maples, Jr. (Cheryl), Duvall WA; daughters, Terrie-Ann Heasley (Darryl) of Bothell, WA, Joan Johnstone (Bruce) of Bothell, WA, Sandra Liddle (Byron) of Renton WA, Debra Strauss (Dennis)of Ventura CA, and Brenda Russie (Daniel) of West Richland WA; grandchildren, Zachary Maples, Michael Maples, Sara Maples, Jaime Faucher (Matt), Jenai Busch (James), Wendy Skorburg (R. Chase),Tammy Liddle Lobban (Jered), Skip Liddle, Andrew Strauss, Eric Strauss, David Russie, Christopher Russie (Anne), and Venessa Best (Drew); and great-grandchildren, Ashley Faucher, Donovan Faucher, Ethan Busch, Caleb Busch, Naomi Busch, Margaret Skorburg, Arthur Skorburg, and Amelia Best.
She loved quilting, sewing, needlework, and knitting. She was a founding member of Lakeview Free Methodist Church in Seattle. The Maples Family would like to thank Home Instead Senior Care (including Bruce Anderson and Rhonda James) and Kaiser Hospice staff (including Linda Luskfauquet and Tracy Hart) for their care and dedication. A memorial service will take place, officiated by Rev. Matt Whitehead, on Saturday, May 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Lakeview Free Methodist Church, 9412 15th Ave NE, Seattle, Washington, 98115.
