Mary Ellen (Hansen) Fleming
Mary Ellen (Hansen) Fleming was born on February 19, 1930 in Parker, South Dakota. She was called to heaven by our Lord on May 8, 2016 with family at her side.
Mary Ellen moved to Washington with her family when she was 6 years old. She graduated from Kent High School in 1948.
On June 5, 1948 she married Stan Fleming, her husband of 60 years. As her children grew older Mary Ellen worked in the Kent School District as a teachers aide and librarian.
Mary Ellen and Stan had developed strong friendships across the state from vacation properties they developed such as Duck Lake and Satsop River.
Mary Ellen was a devoted member of the Valley View Christian Church where she met many friends.
She was an avid gardener and enjoyed knitting and needle point. It was her tradition to give knitted afghans for weddings, births of great grandchildren, and graduations.
She is survived by her three children; Priscilla Crawford, Stan Fleming, Perry Fleming and their spouses. She was preceded in death by her husband Stan Fleming and grandsons, Matthew Fleming and Joseph Mortensen Fleming.
