Mary Margaret Friend

Mary Margaret Friend, 80, beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and 57 year resident of Kent went to be with her Lord peacefully on August 27, 2014 with her family by her side. Born February 2, 1934, in Austin, MN; the third eldest of eight children, born to Leo and Willo McNally. She married Kenneth Friend in August of 1957 and after his death in 1984, became very active at the Kent Senior Center where she won the hearts of many. She especially loved serving in the coffee bar, square dancing and playing cards with her friends. In 2013, she was honored with the longevity award after 23 years of faithful service.

Mary is survived by three siblings, her daughters: Karen Khela (Surinder), Lynn Friend, Julia Snypp (David); her son, Robert Friend; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on September 18th at Calvary Chapel South Church in Kent.
