Michelle Terese Hamilton(Heutmaker)
Michelle Terese Hamilton (Heutmaker) left this world peacefully to be with her Heavenly Father in her parents’ home on July 18th surrounded by her family after a short, courageous battle with cancer. Michelle was born in Seattle on September 27, 1960 to Michael and Marijean Heutmaker. In addition to her parents and her grandmother Mary Day (all of Kent), Michelle is survived by her two children, Marissa and Corey Hamilton of Kent; her brother Jeffrey Heutmaker, sister-in-law Margaret and children Jonathan, Samuel, Maria and Lucia of Polson, Montana; her sister Jeana Mabin, brother-in-law Pat and sons Darin and Dylan of Renton; her sister Jill Chi, brother-in-law John and children Ellie, Micah and Christian of Snohomish; her sister Meriann Meryhew and daughters Sophia and Grace of Houston, Texas, as well as a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and colleagues.Michelle grew up in Kent, graduating from Kentridge High School in 1979. She attended Saint Martin’s College in Lacey and began working for Courtesy Glass in 1982 where she helped grow the company with her Uncle Dick and Aunt Joann from two employees to over 100 employees in four branches over the course of her 27 years there. Michelle gave birth to Marissa in 1991 and to Corey in 1997 and was a dedicated mother to both of them, nurturing their love of life and teaching them both to have gentle spirits and love towards others. She loved music, dancing, reading, traveling to sunny destinations and spending time with her family and friends. Her short illness, while difficult for all of her family and friends, reminded all that prayers for a miracle were answered in the blessings of love, togetherness and peace experienced in the days leading up to her passing.Michelle will be remembered for her easy laugh, her smiling brown eyes, her nurturing spirit, her love and tolerance of people and her gift of making each person with whom she interacted feel unique and special.Michelle’s family would like to thank all her family and friends for the love and support in Michelle’s last days here on earth and the staffs of University Hospital, the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Kline Galland and Providence Hospice of Seattle.A memorial mass celebrating Michelle’s life was held at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, 13055 SE 192nd St, Renton, Washington on July 22, 2009 at 2:00 in the afternoon followed by a reception at the parish. In lieu of flowers a trust fund has been established for Michelle’s children, Marissa and Corey.Remembrances can be made at any US Bank branch.
