Ollie Junior Burton, 90, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019. He was born May 7, 1929 in Morris County, Kansas to Gladys and Ollie Burton. He is survived by his daughters Clarice Hunter (Dana) and Gayle Cole (Dave) and five grandchildren Kelsey, Alex, Kyle, Kellen and Rachel as well as dozens of nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna, son John, and brothers Clyde, Lowell, Paul and Keith.
After retiring from The Boeing Company, Ollie spent his days doing what he loved, working on his cars and tractors and spending time caring for his garden and animals including a horse, dogs, cats, chickens, and his prized possessions, his cows.
Ollie was admired by his family and friends for always giving his time. He loved nothing more than attending his grandchildren’s soccer, basketball, baseball, and volleyball games, concerts and performances or taking them to parades and car shows.
He and his brother, Paul spent weeks every summer cutting, baling and hauling hay at all the fields in the neighborhood — a past time he introduced to his children, grandchildren and neighborhood kids from a young age. For those who knew him, Ollie will always be remembered as being kind and generous, a great father and uncle, and an even better grandfather.
Please join us in celebrating Ollie’s life. A funeral mass is scheduled for Thursday, December 19 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen the Martyr Church. Reception to follow. Burial at Greenwood Memorial Park and Funeral Home Friday, December 20 at 12:00 p.m. — all are welcome!
