Patty, beloved mother of Steve Otey, Sean Hunter and Scott Hunter, passed away on April 21st, 2024 at 72 years old. She left this world, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
Born March 18, 1952 in Fallon, NV, Patty was a Master Gardener and caring mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend to so many. She found her calling with the Renton Parks Department and spent many years doing what she loved taking care of the Cedar River Trail and later Gene Coulon Park, keeping both places beautiful for thousands to enjoy. She touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Patty was a neighborhood mom, offering a welcoming meal or place to sleep for any family or friends that may need it. She supported her kids in more ways that can be counted.
Patty will be remembered for kindness, caring, and sense of humor, which brightened the lives of those around her. She loved working in her garden at home, camping at her spot on the peninsula, and traveling.
Patty is survived by her sons Steve, Sean and Scott, her sister Mary Drake, brother Bob Peck and many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and extended family. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
A celebration of Patty’s life will be held at the Ballard Elks lodge 827 (6411 Seaview Ave NW, Seattle, WA 98107) on Sunday May 26th at 2pm. All family and friends are welcome.
Though Patty may no longer walk among us, her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
