Ray Hardin
Ray Hardin, 89, went to meet his Lord and Savior December 12, 2010. Ray was born September 24, 1921, in Walla Walla, WA. The eldest of 10 children he spent most of his early years in Seattle and has lived in Auburn for the past 57 years. After serving in the Army-Air Corps during WWII, he married Helen (Larson) in 1947 and together they raised two daughters, Kathy and Karen. Ray left a 30 year career at Boeing to pursue a new venture and his true calling as owner/operator of Bill’s Repair of Auburn, retiring a second time last year. Ray loved camping and boating, and he and Helen enjoyed several winters in Arizona. With family being very important in his life, he and Helen helped raise several family members. Ray is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Karen and Kathy (Gary); four grandsons, Ryan (Brenda), Rory (Leslie), Ross (Briana) and Jonathan; six great grandchildren and five siblings. Donations may be made to the New Day Christian Fellowship Church, where Ray and Helen have attended for many years. Burial will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery on Monday, December 20, at 10 am, followed by memorial services at 12 pm at the New Day Christian Fellowship Church (formerly the Auburn Free Methodist Church). Viewing will be from 3-6 pm, Sunday, December 19, at Klontz Funeral Home in Auburn. Please visit www.klontzfuneralhome.com to sign the on-line guestbook.
