Sandra (Sandee) Duiese Minear, 81, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister of Stanwood, Washington, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2023, at Brookdale of Stanwood.
Sandee was born in Minot, North Dakota, in November of 1941. She moved to Kent, Washington, and attended Kent Meridian High School where she met her husband,
Michael (Mike) Russel Minear. They started dating after graduating high school and married in April 1962. Mike was in the Navy. She and Mike had 2 children, Wendi Renee (Minear) Dutton in 1964, and Timothy (Tim) Michael Minear in 1968.
Sandee and her family moved around the United States while in the military. They moved from Washington to California, then Michigan, again to California, to Texas, then finally back to Washington in 1979. During this time she worked as a Bank Teller and Book Keeper. She also taught swimming lessons to the disabled. She was active in the Navy Wives Club and PTA. She loved to go dancing with Mike, and going bowling on leagues. She enjoyed many family camping trips, vacations, and getting together with friends and family. After returning to Washington, and settling down in Stanwood, she worked for a while as a mail carrier at the Stanwood Post Office. She had 2 grandchildren, Kasey Marie Dutton, 24, and Mason Timothy Minear, 20.
Sandee had many interests, likes, and hobbies. She was a member of the Audubon Society. She bowled on a women’s league in Stanwood. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her flower gardens. She loved gathering with friends and family. She enjoyed keeping in touch with her Kent Meridian classmates with luncheons and reunions. She enjoyed many BBQs, get togethers, and vacations at the family cabin at Lake Cavanaugh. She loved to travel. She enjoyed traveling around the United States with Mike and visiting places and their many friends that were made while in the military. She also was able to travel with Mike abroad to Denmark, England, Mauritius, Tahiti, and Singapore while he was working as an Inspector for Boeing.
Sandee had a full life and was loved dearly by her family and friends. She will always be remembered for being positive, friendly, caring, and kind.
Sandee is survived by her husband, Michael R. Minear; daughter, Wendi (Ron) Dutton; son, Timothy (Jennifer) Minear; granddaughter, Kasey M. Dutton; grandson, Mason T. Minear; brother, Brian (Rose) Satran; sister, Kathie (Ken) Costanich; brother-in-law, Roger Minear; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Matey Irene Crum; stepfather, Oscar Vernon Crum (Curly); father, Baldwin Satran; brother Douglas Crum; and sisters, Sherry Gorrell and Patty Roylance.
Sandee was buried in Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington, on February 14, 2023. There will be a Celebration of Life for family and friends at the Stanwood American Legion on February 25, 2023.
