One of the most important races that will be decided on your ballot isn’t about which party will control the White House, Congress or the governor’s mansion. It is which leader will be tasked with ensuring our children get a world-class education and fill the role of state superintendent of public instruction.
There is only one candidate in the race who has more than a decade of classroom teaching experience and more than a decade of district level administration experience. It is the same candidate who has also served as the deputy state superintendent of public instruction. That candidate is Erin Jones.
Erin has spent her entire adult life focused on improving education for our kids. As a classroom teacher, district administrator and deputy superintendent she has been honored with a prestigious Milken Educator Award and has been recognized by the White House as a Champion for Change. She has the benefit of having taught on both sides of the mountains in Spokane, Federal Way and Tacoma.
She is endorsed by the King County Democrats and the Chairwoman of the Republican party. She is endorsed by labor unions and the Association of Washington Business.
We need a parent, educator and administrator to clean up the mess that professional politicians got us into.
I hope you will join Democrats, Republicans, labor, business, teachers, students and education leaders and vote for Erin Jones for State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
