I am strongly urging 47th District voters to support Brooke Valentine for state Representative.

I first met Brooke through our local PTA and her management of the Kent Area Council Clothing Bank. Her leadership and determination helped bring much needed clothing to underfunded families in the Kent area.

Brooke has utilized her leadership abilities to marshal teachers, parents and students to join her in meeting with our elected officials to follow their mandate and support education first. She is consistently informed on the issues and has always fought for children. She has also diligently relayed her vast expertise back to the community, sharing the Olympia perspective with area families.

Investing in our children is the most sound financial decision we can make. Despite constantly talking about the importance of funding education, Mark Hargrove has repeatedly refused to support any local school bonds or levies.

Additionally, he does not support needed improvements to our light rail and public infrastructure necessary to allow our residents to move freely throughout the region for work, school and cultural enrichment. Hargrove is great at telling citizens what they want to hear, yet hasn’t brought much of anything to the table beyond his extreme beliefs.

Overall, it’s easy to see that he does not represent the best interests of this district. It’s time for Hargrove to go, and to bring in someone that seeks to represent everyone in this diverse community. Make sure to vote Valentine on your ballots for a long overdue change in local leadership.
