• WHAT: American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Covington, Maple Valley and Black Diamond.
• WHEN: Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28. The event begins on Friday at 6 p.m. and runs through Saturday at 2 p.m.
• WHERE: Tahoma Junior High.
• WHO: Kentlake girls basketball coach Scott Simmons is leading a team from the school. Anyone who wants to be involved with the Kentlake squad can sign up at the girls basketball team’s web site: www.eteamz.com/kentlakeladyfalcons/index.cfm. The event is welcome to anybody who wants to join. Donations also are welcome and can be made through the web site.
• THE GOAL: The Kentlake team is aiming at raising $2,000 through Relay for Life. Entering the weekend, it had reached $1,025.00.
