The Tri-City Americans snapped the Seattle Thunderbirds’ four-game winning streak with a 4-2 victory Friday night at the Toyota Center in Kennewick.

The teams meet for the third consecutive game at 6:05 p.m. Saturday at the accesso ShoWare Center.

The T-Birds won the first game 5-4 in Kent on Tuesday.

Seattle (6-2-1-0) jumped out to a 2-0 lead with two goals in 1:16 early in the first period.

Jake Lee gathered a loose puck in the neutral zone, skated into the offensive zone on the left wing and beat Tri-City goalie Beck Warm with a wrist shot over the glove from the left circle at 3:12.

Payton Mount chased the puck down the left wing in the Americans zone and won a board battle. Mount passed the puck low to Zack Andrusiak, who sent the puck into the slot to Mount, who found Noah Philp at the backdoor with a pass. Philp beat Warm, who had gone down, thinking Mount was going to shoot, at 4:28.

Tri-City (5-4-0-0) cut the lead to one at 9:29 of the first when Connor Bouchard scored. Riley Sawchuk and Sasha Mutala had the assists.

The Americans tied the game 2-2 at 14-minute mark on Kyle Olson’s goal. Isaac Johnson and Nolan Yaremko had the assists.

Parker AuCoin gave the Americans a 3-2 lead at 14:51 of the third. He then added an empty-net goal with one minute left to seal the win for Tri-City.

Seattle outshot Tri-City 9-7 in the third period. Both teams finished with 26 shots.

Cole Schwebius got his second start of the season in net for Seattle and had 22 saves on 25 shots.

Warm stopped 24 of 26 shots.
