Natano Woods, Kentridge’s record-breaking quarterback, signed a national letter of intent with San Jose State University on Feb. 6.
Woods was the 4A North Puget Sound Cascade Division Offensive Player of the Year. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound senior passed for a school-record 2,351 yards and 25 touchdowns and rushed 98 times for 526 yards and 14 TDs last season.
As a junior, the 2017 second-team all-league choice was his team’s Most Valuable Offensive Player after passing for 1,829 yards and 13 touchdowns and scoring nine more touchdowns rushing on 84 carries.
The three-sport athlete is playing on the Kentridge basketball team. He was a shot put, discus and javelin thrower on the track and field team as a junior.
Woods is interested in majoring in communication studies.
Two of Woods’ cousins are former Spartans – wide receiver Tuati Wooden and linebacker Josh Mauga, whose eight-year NFL career includes five seasons with the New York Jets (2009-13) and three seasons with Kansas City (2014-16).

Jeremy Banks, a 6-foot,185-pound defensive back from Kentridge, signed with Central Washington.
