Seattle Thunderbirds center Colin Jacobs has been selected to play in the 2011 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game Jan. 19 in Toronto, Ontario.
The game will take place at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. There will be a skills competition and three-on-three challenge Jan. 18, followed by the game Jan. 19. Jacobs will not play in the game Jan. 18 against the Kamloops Blazers.
“We are happy that Colin has been ranked with this group of players based on the first half of the season,” said Russ Farwell, T-Birds general manager. “Playing in this game provides him the chance to showcase his skills against the other top players for this year’s draft.”
Jacobs will be a member of Team Orr, coached by former Toronto Maple Leaf Doug Gilmour. Team Orr is named for NHL Hall of Fame defenseman Bobby Orr. Team Orr will compete against Team Cherry, coached by CBC Hockey Night In Canada commentator Don Cherry.
The Top Prospects Game is an annual showcase of the top CHL players in their first year of eligibility for the NHL Draft. The rosters were selected by the 30 NHL General Managers with NHL Central Scouting and include 18 players from the Ontario Hockey League, 13 players from the Western Hockey League, and nine players from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Home Hardware continues as the title sponsor of the Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game for the 12th consecutive year.
