The Dosveedanya 93 Red girls team from the Kent Youth Soccer Association gained a split of its first two games this past weekend at the U.S. Club Soccer National Cup tournament in Virginia Beach, Va.
The South County Futbol Club Fury boys, KYSA’s other representative in the tournament, fell short in their first two games.
Dosveedanya, playing in the U14 Super bracket, dropped its opener on Saturday to Michigan Rush Nike, 2-1. But the Kent girls bounced back on Sunday with a 2-0 shutout of the Eastern FC Cheetahs of Connecticut.
Dosveedanya took a 1-1-0 record with 3 points into its Monday round-robin finale against Fort Worth of Texas, which was 0-1-1 (results unavailable). Dos was third in its three-team group, trailing the Wall SC Wombats of New Jersey (2-0-0, 6 points) and the nearby Federal Way Reign Purple (1-0-1, 4 points), so will need some help from other teams in order to advance to Tuesday’s final.
The Fury, playing in the U14 Premier bracket, dropped a pair of 2-0 decision, the first one to Davis Legacy SC International in Saturday’s opener, and the second to Team of America of Virginia on Sunday.
SCFC took on Middlepath United of New York in Monday’s final round-robin game.
