The Kent Little League 11 and 12-year-old All-Star team opened the state tournament on Saturday in Port Orchard on a strong note against Bainbridge Island, bolting to a 5-0 lead. However, Kent was unable to score the rest of the way, falling 8-5.
The loss dropped Kent into the loser’s bracket, where it continued play Monday night against West Seattle.
Andrew Spring highlighted Kent’s first inning with a two-run homer. Spring drove in four runs in the loss.
