The Kent Reporter’s female athlete of the week for Oct. 6 is senior Tsai Mila of Kentridge High School, cross country.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Political Science.

Q: Name your Mount Rushmore (Top 4) of Movies?

A: “Fast and Furious, “Spiderman into the Spider-verse”, “Crazy Rich Asians”, “La la Land”

Q: Who is the person in your life that has helped you succeed the most?

A: I think everyone I surround myself with pushes me to succeed. All my coaches who I know always have my best interest at heart. My coach, Coach Johnson pushes me to my limits in the sport and helps me set and break goals I never thought to be obtainable. As well as my closest teammates and family who inspire me with their ambition and always support me..

Q: You’re on a long road trip, you stop at a gas station. You get one drink and one snack. What are you choosing?

A: Lemonade and Life Saver Gummies.

Q: Describe your pre-game ritual

A: I usually will talk to Coach Paul and ask him for some advice, and he always gives me some confidence to help ease my mind before a race.

Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?

A: Disillusioned by Daniel Caesar (feat. Serpentwithfeet).

From the sidelines: Mila works extremely hard at every practice and her hard work has paid off with times that are state qualifying. She is multi-talented; she also runs the 800 in track and qualified for both the 800 and mile for post season. She is a great example of determination and hard work both in season and out of season.
