For the first time, the Kent Reporter and Kent School District are partnering to present the Athlete of the Year Awards.
Sixteen athletes across the four Kent area high schools will be up for the award after being nominated by their athletic directors. Voting will take place online May 1-8. The public poll will be available and ready for families, friends, classmates and teachers to pick their favorite athletes to be named Athlete of the Year.
The poll will consist of eight male athletes and eight female athletes. Just one boy and one girl will be declared the winner at 6 p.m. June 4 at the Kent School District Boardroom.
Along with the Athletes of the Year, the Kent School District Unified Athlete of the Year will be awarded. The Kent School District Coach of the Year will also be recognized at the event.
