For the Reporter
The Kent Storm took home 16 medals from the Special Olympics bowling tournaments at Kenmore and Secoma lanes last weekend.
Thirty-one athletes from Kent Schools earned seven gold, seven silver and two bronze medals.
Drew Lehman, of Kentwood High School, qualified to apply for the June national games in Princeton, N.J. He still must go through the Special Olympics Washington process to determine if he can go to the nationals.
Parents, siblings, school friends and Kent School District staff volunteered their time to make the bowling events for the athletes possible.
