The Kentlake High School girls tennis team fell to the Thomas Jefferson Raiders 3-2 in a non-league match on April 4.
In the two Kentlake wins, the Falcons beat the Raiders in straight sets. But in the three losses, they also fell in straight sets.
Kentlake’s No. 1 single’s player Ashley Wansitler took down her opponent, 6-1, 6-1.
The lone doubles win came from the second doubles team of Jenna Fisher and Jaina Harrey. The two took the first set easily, 6-1. But the second set proved more difficult, with the set tied 5-5 and 6-6. Harrey and Fisher won a seven-point tiebreaker to take the second set, 7-6.
Kentlake takes on Auburn Riverside Tuesday, April 11 in the midst of a three-game homestand from April 6-18.
