Sam Dacus threw a complete-game, one-hit gem and Dumit Malacon belted two home runs, driving in three runs, as surprising Kentridge beat Cascade 6-1 at Richland on Saturday to reach the state Class 4A baseball semifinals.
The Chargers will play Skyview at 7 p.m. this Friday at Pasco’s GESA Stadium. Defending state champion Kentwood (21-5) plays South Kitsap at 4 p.m. Friday in the other semifinal. The title game is 7 p.m. Saturday.
Joe Wainhouse had two hits for Kentridge.
The Chargers defeated Richland 10-8 in the state Round of 16.
At Everett on Saturday, Kentwood survived an Olympia comeback, erupting for seven runs on eight straight hits in the top of the eighth to advance to the state semifinals with a 13-7 victory.
