Beau Roggenbach scored 16 points and Eli’sha Sheppard had 12 points as fifth-ranked Kentwood defeated No. 6 Curtis 57-55 in the quarterfinals of the 4A state boys basketball Hardwood Classic at the Tacoma Dome on Thursday.
The Conquerors advance to play Gonzaga Prep in a 5:30 p.m. semfinsl game Friday.
Armann Gill and D’angelo Minnis each had eight points and Rayvaughn Bolton scored nine points and grabbed nine rebounds in the win.
John Moore led the Vikings with 21 points.
Trailing 49-43 entering the fourth quarter, Kentwood rallied to outscore Curtis 14-6 over the final period pull out the win.
Bolton’s layup put the Conks in front for good at 53-52. A Sheppard free throw and Minnis’ 3-pointer powered Kentwood home.
