Kentwood, which upset defending champion Curtis in the quarterfinals, finished fourth in the state Class 4A volleyball tournament at the Toyota Center in Kennewick on Saturday. It was the program’s best finish since 2011.
The Conquerors (19-9) upended Curtis in four games – 25-22, 25-22, 23-25, 25-20 – but dropped a semifinal match against Mead in four games – 20-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-22.
Kentwood came up short to Bellarmine Prep in the match for third place. Game scores were 19-25, 25-23, 27-25, 25-21.
