Kentwood High School edged Kentridge by one point to win its third straight Kent All-City track and field title on Thursday at French Field.

The Conquerers scored 109.5 points, while the Chargers netted 108.5 in combined boys and girls team totals. Kent-Meridian took third place (96.5), followed by Kentlake (52.5).

The Kent-Meridian girls swept the relays, beating Kentwood by .2 of a second in the 400-meter (49.7 seconds) and 800 (1 minute, 45.4 seconds) distances. Kentwood’s 1,600-meter team disqualified, leaving the Royals the lone finishers (4:15.8).

Individual winners for the Royals included junior Caila Tongco, who doubled in the 100 and 300 hurdles (15.27 and 47.26, respectively). Junior Olivia Baerney took first in the 800 (2:28.4) and 1,600 (5:32.2), while her sister, freshman Allison, finished second in the 1,600 (5:56.80) and won the 3,200 (12:39).
