Marquetching was never headed Saturday and rolled to a 1-½ length triumph over Goldledue in the Best Western Peppertree Purse for 3-year-olds at Emerald Downs.

With Pedro Terrero riding, Marquetching ran six furlongs in 1 minute, 10.85 seconds on a fast track and paid $12, $4.40 and $2.60. Tim Harder is the winning trainer for owner R & O Harder Racing Inc.

Goldledue, the 4-to-5 favorite ridden by Leslie Mawing, finished second and paid $2.40 and $2.10. It was 2-½ lengths back to Evil Urges in third place, and a $2.20 show payoff.

Hillbilly Cadillac and Major Mac finished fourth and fifth, and Six Gigs dropped far back early and was eased.

Breaking from the outside post in a six-horse field, Marquetching easily cleared the field, set fractions of :22.93, :45.66 and :57.76, and then held betting favorite Goldledue safe in the stretch run. A Washington-bred 3-year-old colt by Marquetry-Kaaching, Marquetching is 2-2-1 in seven lifetime starts.
