The Northwest Xtreme All-Stars – Kent’s competitive cheer program for young athletes – is looking to raise money to attend The Summit, a national competition in Orlando, Fla., May 4-5.
The fundraising goal is $40,000 for the squad involving 40 athletes, ages 11-18, to compete, according to Charmaine and Chuck Chartrey, project leaders and owners and coaches of the four-year program.
The Summit is a definitive, invitation-only event for 462 of the best youth, junior, and senior level cheer teams from throughout the country.
Northwest Xtreme received three invitations to represent Washington at The Summit following its performance at the PacWest competition in Portland on March 17. It was the most bids received by any team on the West Coast.
