He’s back.

Josh Smith returned to Kentwood boys basketball team Tuesday night in fine fashion, scoring 10 points in a 61-37 South Puget Sound League North Division win over Tahoma.

Smith, Kentwood’s 6-foot-10 UCLA-bound center, had been out since Dec. 8 with a knee injury. During Smith’s absence, Kentwood posted a 4-5 record. The Conquerors (5-4, 5-6) have won three of their last four.

Tre Tyler led all scorers with 16 points.

• KR 70, Thomas Jefferson 56: Gary Bell dropped a game-high 38 points on the Raiders, leading Kentridge (6-2, 9-3) past Jefferson (2-5, 5-6). It was Bell’s second-highest scoring night of the season. He scored a league-record 55 points earlier this season against Auburn Riverside. Craig Rasmussen, who scored 13 points, was the only other Charger to reach double figures.

• Kentlake 74, A. Riverside 57: In a race for one of the SPSL North’s final playoff berths, the Falcons (4-4, 5-7) picked up a key win over the Ravens (4-4, 7-5), receiving a team-high 19 points from Mike Salazar and 14 more from Jaron Heck en route to the victory.

• F. Way 77, Kent-Meridian 66: The Royals (1-7, 3-9) hung with the top-ranked Eagles (8-0), but were unable to pull off the upset. Barenton Ahmed led K-M with 19 points while Jordan Thompson Walker continued his hot shooting, scoring 12.

• Kentwood 73, Tahoma 46: Kylie Huerta scored a game-high 20 points while teammates Sanda Milovic (15) and Courtney Johnson (12) also reaching double digits in scoring as the Conquerors (7-1, 9-2) won their third-straight game.

• A. Riverside 92, Kentlake 41: The Falcons couldn’t hang with the top-ranked Ravens (8-0, 12-0), falling behind 49-25 at halftime en route to an SPSL North blowout. Morganne Comstock led Kentlake (5-3, 8-4) in scoring with 14 points.

• Jefferson 53, Kentridge 42: Nicole Barger scored 11 points and Taylor Riley added 10, but it wasn’t enough for the Chargers (0-8, 1-11) in a loss to the Raiders (3-5, 6-6).

• F. Way 74, Kent-Meridian 36: The Eagles (6-2, 10-2) contained K-M standout Briana Shannon, holding the senior guard to six points in an SPSL North win over the Royals (1-7, 1-10). Aubreyana Anderson led K-M with 12 points.
