Left wing finishes T-Bird career with 218 points in 238 games
Seattle Thunderbirds General Manager Russ Farwell has announced left wing Prab Rai has been signed by the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL.
“We are very happy for Prab and wish him all the best as he moves on to his career as a pro,” said Farwell. “Prab has been a great contributor for us over the years. Each season he assumed a larger leadership role. This year he provided a very steadying influence and positive example to our young group of players.”
Rai was selected by the Canucks in the fifth round, 131st overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft.
The T-Birds acquired Rai Dec. 19, 2006, in a trade with the Prince George Cougars for Chad Hohmann. In three and half seasons with the T-Birds, Rai appeared in 238 games. He had 91 goals and 127 assists for 218 points with 88 penalty minutes and a plus/minus rating of plus-32.
The T-Birds are now accepting season ticket deposits for the 2010-11 Western Hockey League season. For more information, please call the T-Birds ticket office at (253) 239-7825.
