Ready for some hockey? Thunderbirds release tentative 2009-10 schedule

The Seattle Thunderbirds today announced their first full season at their new home, ShoWare Center. The T-Birds will open the 2009-10 Western Hockey League regular season with back-to-back home games against the Everett Silvertips and Portland Winterhawks.

The T-Birds will take on the Silvertips on Friday, September 18, at 7:35 p.m. and then host the Winterhawks on Saturday, September 19, at 7:05 p.m. Both games are at ShoWare Center in Kent.

Seattle will play eight of their first 12 games at home.

They will go on a six-game road trip to the Central Division of the Eastern Conference in late October and then have a second six-game road trip to start November.

The T-Birds will finish November and head into the holiday break with 10 of 13 games at ShoWare Center.

Seattle will play its I-5 rivals the Winterhawks six times at home and the Silvertips five times at home.

The T-Birds will play 31 games on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday during the 2009-10 season.

T-Birds season tickets are also on sale. Season tickets can be purchased by calling the T- Birds office at 253-239-PUCK.

T-Birds single game tickets for the 2009-10 season will go on sale 10 a.m. Aug. 19 online at www.seattlethunderbirds.com and at the ShoWare Center box office.

The T-Birds tentative schedule becomes final Aug. 10.
