Seattle Thunderbirds goalie Calvin Pickard has joined the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League for the remainder of their season.
The Monsters are AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche. Pickard was originally selected by the Avalanche in the second round, 49th overall, in the 2010 NHL Draft.
Pickard played in 64 games this season and had a 27-35-1-1 record with five shutouts. Pickard established two WHL records this season. He is now the all-time leader in minutes played with 14,025 and the all-time saves leader with 7,727.
Pickard has appeared in 241 games with the T-Birds in his four-year career and has a 91-120-12-15 record with 12 shutouts. He has a career save percentage of .909 and a career goals against average of 3.29.
The Monsters are currently in third place in the North Division of the Western Conference of the AHL. They wrap up the regular season April 14.
