The Seattle Thunderbirds were special guests at an assembly to congratulate Crestwood Elementary for winning the 2010 Cruzin’ Passport Summer Challenge.
At the Nov. 16 event, T-Bird players and T-Bird mascot Cool Bird presented students with trinkets, as well as celebrating with them, for winning a community-wide health event focused on individual youngsters keeping track of their healthy activities over the summer.
Crestwood took first place in the event, followed by Martin Sortun Elementary, and Sawyer Woods Elementary in second and third.
Crestwood won $1,000 for physical-education or health materials; Martin Sortun won $750 for PE and health materials; and Sawyer Woods won a floor-hockey set.
